For over 50 years...Lambda Chi Alpha has provided...

Excellence and Service

Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity is the oldest fraternity in the Marshall University Greek system. For 51 years, the Zeta Zeta Zeta Chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha has taken pride in its excellence and community service to the University. The chapter was chartered in 1946. Alumnae and current members celebrated their fifty years of brotherhood last November at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Huntington. Their historic and well-appointed house is located on 1440 5th Avenue. Our members have strong obligations to withstand both in the classroom and in the fraternity itself.

Lambda Chi Alpha was recently awarded the multicultural programming award at the SGA Student Leadership Assembly. Their program was entitled The English-Portuguese Continuum: An Interpersonal Approach and was focused on understanding cultural and linguistic differences between Brazilian and American students. This highly successful program instructed the brothers of Lambda Chi in some practical and basic aspects of the Portuguese language and allowed them to express themselves to visiting Brazilian nursing students in their native tongue. This award highlights a successful year for the chapter as a whole, where some members have been individually recognized at the same assembly.

Lambda Chi treasurer Bob Dorado was recognized as SOAR President Extrodinaire for the year of 1997 and was charged with awarding the Kathleen MacArthur prize. Lambda Chi Dorion Liston was awarded the 1997 Outstanding Sophomore award for his campus involvement and academic commitment. The chapter is proud of the achievements of its members.
