Thomas Lacy, Roderfield freshman, and Nicole Yancey, Charleston freshman, were crowned Nubian Prince and Princess during the annual Black United Students celebration of African-American Heritage.

Located outside the entrance to the Morrow Library, the bell commemorates the donation of the cast bronze carillon bells located in Morrow Library. Mr. and Mrs. C.I. and Marie A. Thornburg made the donation in 1982.

The Flag Corps dazzled the crowd during the pre-game and half-time performances at the football games.

A celebration of the cultures represented at MU culminated in an international food festival. Participants enjoyed cuisines from Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America.
