Harambee,
taken from the African dialect, means "coming together", and the Center
for African-American Students tried to do just that. They encouraged everyone
to gather and celebrate 'Harambee'. The Center uses Harambee as a time
for students, faculty and staff to gather with students to socialize and
learn from one another.
Students, faculty and staff acted out skits about ways to get the most
out of the University. Sororities and fraternities set up informational
booths so potential members could speak to members and explore the Greek
option. Those who showed up were given the opportunity to talk to students
and meet new people. |
