The 21st Annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony was held on Friday, April 24, 1998, in the Memorial Student Center. Students were recognized for assuming their many leadership roles. 70 students were recognized as Who's Who Among American College and University Student winners. All winners received Old Main lithographs. Reverend Bob Bondurant was recognized as the Outstanding Advisor of the Year.
Other awards distributed to students were:
* The Karen C. Thomas Award
* Student Activities & Greek Affairs Awards
* The Dean's Award for Outstanding Leadership in the Student Government Association
* John Deaver Drinko Community Service Awards
Special honors were awarded for Outstanding Contributions to Marshall University, Outstanding Leadership, Outstanding Leader-Scholar and the Outstanding Sophomore, Junior and Senior of the Year.
The students who are selected for their respective awards are nominated by faculty and staff who work with these students on a daily basis. | ||||
