You don't need to plan trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City or Monte Carlo to press your luck the opportunity is coming to you. Join the Student Activities Programming Board as they present "Casino Night" Thursday, April 16 from 6 until 9 p.m. in the Shawkey Room of the Memorial Student Center.
Try your luck at the slot machines or move on to the blackjack or craps tables. No casino would be complete without a roulette table staffed by professional casino workers. The staff will be on hand to assist with instructions, suggestions and advice for increasing the chances of winning at all games.
"You can't lose," said J.S. Bragg, a member of the Student Activities Programming Board. "All participants will be provided with the same amount of casino chips upon entry, then it's up to you to win as much as possible. We're only playing for fun; however, keep in mind that an auction will follow."
At the auction, prizes will be awarded to the highest bidders. The grand prizes are two free sky diving lessons from a company based in Ohio each a $120 value. Other prizes include Papa John's pizzas, Fiesta Bravo dinners, Springfest/ "Herd Rock from the Sun" T-shirts, River and Rail lunches, Calamity Cafe gift certificates, Stadium Bookstore Marshall wear and tickets to the Springfest concert just to name a few.
"The reaction of students about this program has been amazing," Bragg said. "We're all looking forward to the evening." | |||||
