Graduate Students say,

"We're students at MU too!"

Undergraduate students go to classes, take exams and join student organizations. Undergraduate students are not the only students who are active in Marshall University's academic scene. Graduate students at the university are just as active, vocal, and well represented in student organizations as every one else.

Graduate students hold seats on the Student Government Association and help facilitate the decision making process for some Marshall matters.

These students are Graduate Assistants in University offices working along side of administrators and their assistants helping ensure students get the information they need, when they need it. Graduate students are also teaching assistants in the classroom, filling in and teaching classes when necessary. They are Graduate Advisors sometimes to university organizations.

Graduate students maintain their own organization to focus on matters directly related to post-graduate studies. Graduate Student Council serves as the sounding/governing board for students at the university. This Council plans fund-raising events to help fund special Graduate projects (such as the Graduate Hooding ceremony that is held each May). It tries to gauge Graduate Student interests and bring programs to the university that can be of benefit to the students it serves.
