Marshall University women from across campus gathered together in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center for an afternoon of networking, socializing and to see a spectacular one woman showcase on the life and times of impressionist painter, Mary Cassatt (1844-1926).
Women Connect', sponsored by the Marshall University Women's Center, is the day when Marshall staff and faculty women invite undergraduate and graduate women to join them for an afternoon of networking. This is an event which both students and staff look forward to because it is a time not only to make connections with new women one may not have met on campus, but also a time for enlightening speakers. Last year, Mrs. Ruby Dee came to campus to present her one-woman show and this year was just as spectacular. Mrs. Helen Hale performed the life and times of impressionist painter Mary Cassatt, who although born and raised in America, left the country and went to France where she painted.
New connections were made between students and staff who said they will be sure to return to "Women Connect" next year. | |||||
