Internet Mental Health
- "Internet Mental Health is a free encyclopedia of mental health information. It was designed by a Canadian psychiatrist, Dr. Phillip Long, and programmed by his colleague, Brian Chow. Internet Mental Health is manned by dedicated volunteers from the Vancouver Mental Health Support Group, a non-profit society founded by Robert Winram and Dr. Phillip Long." There are well-written articles on 50 of the most common mental disorders. Both Diagnosis and treatment are discussed. Information is intended for "Mental health professionals, Patients who want to learn more about their illness, Friends and families of patients, Mental health support groups, Students, and Members of the general public who want to learn more about mental health." Descriptions of mental disorders from the DSM-III-R and ICD-10 are also provided. However, the DSM-IV is the most current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

- National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke
- offers information about itself, research grant support, and an informative The Neurological Information and Publications List has many articles that consumers will find useful.
- Roxane Pain Relief Institute
- focuses on pain related to cancer, but covers other pain topics and is very well presented.
There are separate Library pages for Patients and Professionals , which have many good articles and links to other Net resources. Also, an outstanding Oncology Pain Lecture with 75 slides.

- Certified Poison Control Centers
- gives address and phone numbers, organized by State.

ATSDR Contaminant Sites Database
- from the Agency for Toxic Substance & Disease Registry,
includes over 2,000 sites. Search by contaminant site or toxicological profiles to retrieve comprehensive descriptions
of sites or substances. There is an Image Map that can be used to select the sites in a particular state. The entire site is searchable from the Homepage . The Agency's Newsletter is now online with full graphics. The Public Health Statements are a good way to find basic information and risks involved with numerous toxic substances."
- ARS Pesticide Properties Database
- "is a compendium of chemical and physical properties of 324 widely used pesticides. Information included in the database focuses on 16 of the most important properties that affect pesticide transport and degradation characteristics."
- Women's Health Page from GHNet
- has a comprehensive, annotated list of links that are mostly disease oriented. Coverage for topics on aging, menopause, osteoporosis, cancer, domestic violence, heart disease, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, reproductive health and electronic journals and newsletters.
