{"id":86,"date":"2018-03-08T13:51:43","date_gmt":"2018-03-08T18:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/aedswv\/?p=86"},"modified":"2018-03-28T13:54:39","modified_gmt":"2018-03-28T17:54:39","slug":"higher-education-institutions-partner-with-n3-to-connect-graduates-to-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/aedswv\/2018\/03\/08\/higher-education-institutions-partner-with-n3-to-connect-graduates-to-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Higher education institutions partner with N3 to connect graduates to jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The presidents from 10 public higher education institutions today announced that the\u00a0<span id=\"0.5901374045687275\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0for the Economic Development for Southern West Virginia (<span id=\"0.523815090279647\">Alliance<\/span>) is teaming up with N3, a global leader in sales and marketing strategy execution, to connect graduates with job opportunities in Charleston,.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPartnering with businesses and connecting West Virginians with available job opportunities is what the\u00a0<span id=\"0.22317094497098933\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0is all about,\u201d chair of the\u00a0<span id=\"0.2744595340488285\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0Marshall University President Jerry Gilbert said. \u201cOne of the\u00a0<span id=\"0.076875555227371\">Alliance<\/span>\u2019s main goals is to keep our students here in West Virginia and by highlighting good companies, like N3, it is a meaningful way to show recent graduates that there are real opportunities in our state and they don\u2019t have to move to North Carolina or Ohio to find jobs, because we have them right here at home. It is really simple:\u00a0\u00a0We have a diverse, talented job pool and West Virginia employers need these individuals to operate and run their businesses, so the\u00a0<span id=\"0.9006053041197386\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0is just acting as a facilitator and connecting the two.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This partnership entails the higher education institutions posting the N3 job positions, hosting N3 leadership on campus, sharing N3 job descriptions on social media and pushing out job opportunities through the institutions\u2019 career services departments to student and alumni networks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cN3 continues to expand our client roster globally and West Virginia represents a strategic location for us and for our clients,\u201d N3 CEO Jeff Laue said.\u00a0\u201cOur West Virginia employees demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and commitment to quality that validates our decision to expand in Charleston.\u00a0 We are looking forward to growing our office there and this partnership represents a great opportunity for our employees and the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vice President of Strategy and Operations for N3 Ken Boggs said, \u201cI appreciate the\u00a0<span id=\"0.7650993990980484\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0and the higher education institutions\u2019 presidents for partnering with us. N3 is a great company to work for and we are global. We selected Charleston as the latest addition to N3\u2019s global operations because of the dedicated and hardworking workforce, and we are very hopeful for a bright future here in the Mountain State.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vice Chair of the\u00a0<span id=\"0.18000952315398844\">Alliance<\/span>\u00a0West Virginia State University President Anthony Jenkins stated, \u201cTogether we are using our resources to connect potential employees to employers. West Virginia is prime for economic growth and the first step to capturing this much-needed reality is that we, as higher education institutions, must be proactive in our efforts to partner with companies doing business in our state with state officials to capture new companies in the future.
