Athletic Training Program is a professional degree program enabling students to earn both a Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s in five years, preparing students to sit for the national\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bocatc.org\/\">Board of Certification (BOC) exam<\/a>\u00a0for athletic trainers.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Professional Master of Science in Athletic Training Program (PMSATP) is fully accredited by the\u00a0<a>CAATE<\/a>\u00a0(Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education). No problem \u2013 students who meet the pre-requisites can still pursue the program like most traditional two-year master\u2019s degree programs in athletic training.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once you are admitted to Marshall University and have declared athletic training as your major, you must complete specific prerequisite courses to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/athletic-training\/admission\/\">apply for admission into the PMSAT<\/a>. The certified athletic trainer has the medical and physiological skills necessary to provide initial assessment and treatment of injury and the foresight to reduce the risk of their occurrence.
