The Marshall University Marching Thunder is proud to announce their 2019 production, <\/span>FROM ACROSS THE POND<\/span><\/strong>\u2013 a musical journey of artists and composers from Great Britain. <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n After a classical rendition of Elton John\u2019s <\/span>Your Song<\/span><\/strong>, the Marching Thunder will surely bring the thunder with a powerful hit of Queen\u2019s <\/span>Bohemian Rhapsody<\/span><\/strong>! After this impactful display of sound from the drums and brass and visuals from our guard, majorettes, and featured twirlers, we will quickly transition to an upbeat modern rock version of The Beatles\u2019 <\/span>Eleanor Rigby<\/span><\/strong>. Woven in between the flash of notes from the winds, the percussion will take over with Amy Winehouse\u2019s <\/span>Back to Black<\/span><\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A powerful ballad wouldn\u2019t be a complete hit without the very emotional and powerful work of Adele. We will combine the emotion of Edward Elgar\u2019s <\/span>\u201cNimrod\u201d from his Enigma Variations <\/span><\/strong>with the iconic <\/span>All I Ask <\/span><\/strong>from Adele\u2019s 2017 Best Album of the Year Grammy Award winning, 25<\/em>!<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We will then pick up the heat and the tempo with Rolling Stones\u2019 <\/span>Paint It Black <\/span><\/strong>with a mixed meter twist! Gustav Holst is a well-known British composer for his works in the orchestra. You might recognize a little of his work entitled <\/span>\u201cMars\u201d from The Planets<\/em><\/span><\/strong>.
