The Marshall Rec Center would like to invite the community to participate in our Rec the Halls with Holiday Hopes – Angel Tree event this holiday season. The Rec is partnering with the First Year Residence Halls on the Marshall University Campus to hold this event. Donated gifts from this event will benefit children with needs in the Huntington Community.
The concept of Rec the Halls with Holiday Hopes is similar to an “Angel Tree.” The Rec receives wish lists of individual children from local agencies, such as: Golden Girls, Ronald McDonald House, A.D. Lewis Community Center and NECCO. Their wishes are hung on a tree in either the Marshall Recreation Center lobby or in the First Year Residence Hall North Dorm for the faculty, staff, community members and students to fulfill. The unwrapped gifts and the tags need to be returned to the Rec by December 9th.
The success of this event is credited largely to our volunteers and sponsors. By participating as a sponsor of a child, you will be able to help in giving them a nice Christmas by providing them with gifts from their wish list! Gift’s should be delivered to the Rec Center, no later than December 9th.
We appreciate your time in considering this opportunity to support the Marshall Rec Center and First Year Residence Halls. If you have any further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us.
