For me, the Office of Career Education was the perfect way to jumpstart my ideas in the right direction for both. During my last semester as an undergraduate student, I went to the career center seeking guidance on updating my resume and writing my personal statement. I asked the Office of Career Education to talk to my sophomore class. They went above and beyond my expectations. They suggested helpful activities that they could include, despite the extra work it would cause their staff. They helped students create and polish resumes, provided the opportunity for them to practice interviewing, and helped them develop personal statements. They provided feedback to each student and worked with the class to help them understand self-marketing expectations and parameters. A few weeks later, I interviewed over the phone, which I had also practiced with Career Education. I received a call towards the end of the semester and won the position for the summer internship.
