Biography

Dr. Ruiqing “Ryan” Shen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Marshall University. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering from Oklahoma State University. With the vision to protect people, the community, and the environment through developing more eco-friendly fire-safe materials and designing cost-effective engineering safety and health strategies, his current areas of research include: advanced manufacturing of polymeric materials, integration of new technologies into chemical process safety, fire protection, and occupational health and safety.
