Apply to the Doctor of Education (EdD)\u00a0degree with a major\u00a0in Curriculum and Instruction (Code: GEKO) as a\u00a0<b>Distance-Only Graduate Student<\/b>.<\/p>\n\t<div role=\"listitem\" class=\"flex flex-col\">\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-2 font-bold text-2xl\">2. AI-powered writing enhancement tools may be used to help with spelling, grammar, syntax, and stylistic errors.\u00a0The essay must be 750-1,000 words and address the following topics and program goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"\">personal strengths that will contribute to\u00a0your\u00a0success in the\u00a0CI\u00a0Ed.D.\u00a0program;<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">professional experiences that provide a basis for\u00a0your\u00a0contributions to the program;<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">role of the Ed.D.\u00a0in\u00a0your\u00a0professional growth plan;<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">discussion of your preliminary research interests; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"\">further information\u00a0you deem\u00a0relevant to the admissions process and decision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<div role=\"listitem\" class=\"flex flex-col\">\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-2 font-bold text-2xl\">4. Admissions Committee for review.\u00a0 The CI Ed.D. Admissions Committee will invite the most qualified applicants to\u00a0participate in a virtual interview with\u00a0faculty.<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Submit these materials by invitation only<\/h2>\n<p><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><i>The CI Ed.D. Admissions Committee will invite the most qualified applicants to complete a scheduled electronic writing prompt assessment (at no additional cost to the applicant) and to participate in a virtual interview with program faculty.<\/i><\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"styled-list\"><ul class=\"\">\n\t<div role=\"listitem\" class=\"flex flex-col\">\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-2 font-bold text-2xl\">5. Writing Prompt Assessment<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"bg-green h-1 mt-2 w-1\/6\"><\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-3\"><\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<span class=\"normaltextrun\">Applicants will respond to a timed, online writing prompt that will be evaluated by the CI Ed.D. Admissions Committee. The online writing prompt will be evaluated using a rubric based on content quality, organization, evidence\/examples, and mechanics. <\/span><span class=\"eop\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\t<div role=\"listitem\" class=\"flex flex-col\">\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-2 font-bold text-2xl\">6. Interview<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"bg-green h-1 mt-2 w-1\/6\"><\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"mt-3\"><\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<p style=\"\">Applicants will participate in a virtual interview with\u00a0faculty. Interviews are guided by a prepared set of questions designed to further gauge an applicant\u2019s readiness for doctoral studies.
