The COEPD Preparation and Impact Architecture serves as the college-wide framework that connects professional preparation, professional practice, and professional impact across all degree programs and certificates within the College of Education and Professional Development. The architecture provides a common structure for understanding how candidates develop knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional competencies throughout their preparation experiences and how the College evaluates the effectiveness and impact of that preparation.<\/p>\n

The architecture reflects the College’s commitment to preparing ethical, knowledgeable, skilled, and reflective professionals who positively influence schools, organizations, agencies, businesses, communities, and the individuals they serve. Rather than viewing assessment as a collection of disconnected measures, the architecture organizes evidence into a coherent system that demonstrates candidate growth, professional readiness, and long-term impact.<\/p>\n

Preparation<\/h2>\n

Preparation represents the intentional design of learning experiences that support candidate development throughout a program of study. These experiences provide opportunities for candidates to acquire and apply discipline-specific knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional competencies.<\/p>\n

    Professional Practice represents the demonstration of candidate learning through authentic assessments and performance measures that evaluate readiness for professional roles and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

        Data generated throughout the Preparation and Impact Architecture are collected, analyzed, and reviewed through the COEPD Quality Assurance System.
