The architecture provides a common structure for understanding how candidates develop knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional competencies throughout their preparation experiences and how the College evaluates the effectiveness and impact of that preparation.<\/p>\n<p>The architecture reflects the College&#8217;s commitment to preparing ethical, knowledgeable, skilled, and reflective professionals who positively influence schools, organizations, agencies, businesses, communities, and the individuals they serve. These experiences provide opportunities for candidates to acquire and apply discipline-specific knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional competencies.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of preparation experiences may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coursework and instruction<\/li>\n<li>Applied learning experiences<\/li>\n<li>Field, clinical, laboratory, and practice-based experiences<\/li>\n<li>Internships and practica<\/li>\n<li>Research, inquiry, and scholarship<\/li>\n<li>Professional learning and development opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Community and stakeholder engagement<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative projects and professional experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through these experiences, candidates progressively develop the competencies necessary for professional success within their chosen field.<\/p>\n<h2>Professional Practice<\/h2>\n<p>Professional Practice represents the demonstration of candidate learning through authentic assessments and performance measures that evaluate readiness for professional roles and responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence of professional practice may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performance-based assessments<\/li>\n<li>Professional practice evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Applied projects, portfolios, and exhibitions<\/li>\n<li>Clinical, field, internship, and practicum evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Licensure, certification, credentialing, and program assessments<\/li>\n<li>Research and scholarly products<\/li>\n<li>Professional dispositions and behaviors<\/li>\n<li>Capstone and culminating experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These measures provide evidence that candidates can successfully apply their knowledge and skills in authentic professional contexts.<\/p>\n<h2>Impact<\/h2>\n<p>Impact represents the outcomes associated with candidate and completer effectiveness after preparation experiences have been completed. Impact measures help the College understand the influence of its graduates on their professions, organizations, schools, agencies, and communities.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence of impact may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employer and supervisor feedback<\/li>\n<li>Completer feedback<\/li>\n<li>Employment and career advancement outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Stakeholder and community feedback<\/li>\n<li>Professional contributions and leadership<\/li>\n<li>Service and engagement activities<\/li>\n<li>Organizational and community impact<\/li>\n<li>Professional effectiveness indicators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Impact evidence demonstrates how graduates apply their preparation to create meaningful and measurable outcomes within their professional settings.<\/p>\n<h2>Continuous Improvement<\/h2>\n<p>Data generated throughout the Preparation and Impact Architecture are collected, analyzed, and reviewed through the COEPD Quality Assurance System.
