{"id":772,"date":"2022-08-08T10:35:27","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T15:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/coepd-assessment\/?page_id=772"},"modified":"2025-04-10T15:51:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-10T20:51:15","slug":"alda","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/coepd-assessment\/alda\/","title":{"rendered":"Advanced-Level Candidate Disposition Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>CAEP Standard Alignment<\/strong>: RA.1: Content and Pedagogical Knowledge<br \/>\n<strong>CAEP Standard Component Alignment<\/strong>: RA1.1: Candidate Knowledge, Skills, and Professional Dispositions<\/p>\n<h4>The Advanced-Level Dispositions were approved by the COEPD Faculty Review Committee (FRC) on March 12, 2024.<\/h4>\n<p>The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP, 2020), Standard RA1.1 requires that \u201ccandidates for advanced preparation demonstrate their proficiencies to understand and apply knowledge and skills appropriate to their professional field of specialization so that learning and development opportunities for all P-12 are enhanced through, in part, the application of professional dispositions, laws and policies, codes of ethics and professional standards appropriate to their field of specialization\u201d (pg. 48). CAEP describes dispositions as the \u201chabits of professional action and moral commitments that underlie an educator\u2019s performance (InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards, p. 6.).<\/p>\n<p>Identifying and assessing candidate dispositions is a critical element of any licensure program. Individual licensure programs at the advanced level identify and evaluate specific and observable dispositions. Advanced-level candidates of the COEPD shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use Technology in an Ethical Manner (RA1.1f)<\/li>\n<li>Effectively Use Technology Resources Applicable to their Field\/Discipline (RA1.1e)<\/li>\n<li>Promote the Use of Technology to Improve Student Learning (RA1.1e)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n                            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n<p>During a capstone, internship, or practicum course, the instructor and applicable mentors\/field supervisors will use an evaluation rubric to measure whether you meet, are developing, or need improvement on each candidate disposition. Evaluators will also indicate any candidate disposition not observed during the course.
