Giving to the College of Education and Professional Development

Gifts of any size that can be designated to any area of the COEPD are welcomed and valued by our faculty and students. Flexible gifts that give a discretionary pool of funds to the COEPD are appreciated as are targeted donations to support scholarships, fellowships, capital projects, endowed chairs, and other initiatives are equally valued. Please feel free to contact the dean of the COEPD (Dr. Teresa Eagle, 304-696-6703) for advice on targeted giving. Gifts made within one calendar year can be taken as a deduction from that year’s federal income taxes. Donors should be aware of the timeline of giving when dating their check or making online gifts.

The Lab School Honorary Association

The Lab School Honorary Association now mirrors the MU Dean’s Circle for alumni and friends who wish to pledge support at a chosen level over 5 years. The levels of membership are outlined below. Our members will receive a beautiful lapel pin representing their chosen level of commitment and will be honored on a new donor wall planned for Education Building. Those that previously made a gift to the former Lab School Honorary Society are grandfathered in as MU Dean’s Circle Members.

Dean’s Circle

At Marshall University, we count success one student at a time. Joining the Dean’s Circle with a multi-year pledge will strengthen the University Fund or one of our colleges’ annual funds. These funds help support the education of Marshall students, whether it be through updating teaching technology and resources, scholarships for talented and deserving students, or other initiatives that make a Marshall education unique. Your membership in the Dean’s Circle makes an important difference in Marshall’s future and our students’ success.

Your annual commitment of at least $100 for five years qualifies you for membership in the Dean’s Circle. Each member will receive a distinctive lapel pin and recognition on the Marshall University Foundation, Inc. website. Your membership pin signifies the level of your commitment.

Dean’s Circle Giving Levels

  • Emerald Level ($1,000 or more annually for five years)
  • Gold Level ($500-$999 annually for five years)
  • Silver Level ($100-$499 annually for five years)

We invite you to invest in the Dean’s Circle today, and make your personal contribution to the exciting future facing Marshall University, its students, alumni, and friends. Your contribution will be an important building block in the foundation on which we will continue to build educational excellence at Marshall University.
