Offering an M.A. in Counseling, a certificate in Violence, Loss, and Trauma Counseling, and various accelerated graduate degree pathways, our programs will help you meet the educational requirements for licensure as a professional counselor and\/or certification as a school counselor. Our small class sizes, online programming, and unique blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning, will enable you to learn from home, impact your community, and be a Counselor. The department\u2019s mission is to prepare reflective, effective, and committed teachers who possess the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to meet the diverse needs of students in today\u2019s schools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">The department offers programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts in Education with majors in Elementary Education and Secondary Education. All programs are designed in accordance with state and national standards and include extensive clinical and field-based experiences that provide progressive professional growth and practical application of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Students enrolled in undergraduate teacher education programs complete more than 900 hours of field-based and clinical experiences in public and private school settings. These experiences are intentionally sequenced to provide increasing levels of responsibility and professional engagement.
