With may generous scholarships available, be sure to explore the scholarships below to see if you meet the criteria for one of our college-specific scholarships. Should you meet the criteria, please contact your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/cohp\/faculty-staff\/department-directory\/\">department chair<\/a> for more information on how to apply.<\/p>\n<h2>Scholarships<\/h2>\n<h2>Georgianna Buchanan Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate nursing student in good academic standing (not applicable to incoming freshmen)<\/li>\n<li>Resident of Lawrence County, Ohio; Cabell County, WV or Logan County, WV<\/li>\n<li>Annual award of $1,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Dora Craig Memorial Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate nursing student<\/li>\n<li>Preference given to Mingo County, WV and Pike County, KY applicants, but all WV and KY students encouraged to apply<\/li>\n<li>Annual award of $3,000 ($1,500 per semester)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Jane Deacon Flower Scholarship in Nursing<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate nursing student<\/li>\n<li>Preference given to students participating in pre-licensure BSN program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mary W. George Medical Technology Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have completed an associate&#8217;s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology<\/li>\n<li>Must be entering senior Clinical Laboratory Science courses<\/li>\n<li>Must have minimum GPA of 2.5 for CLS courses; GPA of 2.0 overall<\/li>\n<li>Financial need and commitment to medical technology will precede academic ability as selection criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Annual award of $500<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/cohp\/files\/Mary-W.-George-Scholarship-Application-Information-1.doc\">Mary W. Brown Endowed Scholarship for Allied Health Professionals<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be full-time, actively enrolled Clinical Laboratory Science student<\/li>\n<li>Must be West Virginia or metro resident<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate financial need<\/li>\n<li>Must be in good academic standing<\/li>\n<li>Annual award of $1,000; renewable<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/cohp\/files\/Dr.-Linda-G.-Brown-Endowed-Scholarship-Information.doc\">Dr. Linda G. Brown Endowed Scholarship Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The George J. Harold &amp; Dr. Ruth C. Garrett Awards Endowment<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The George J. Harold Graduate Academic Award: The recipient shall be the student who completes the master&#8217;s degree in Communication Disorders with the highest grade point average.<\/li>\n<li>The Dr. Ruth C. Garrett Undergraduate Academic Award: The recipient shall be the student who completes the bachelor&#8217;s degree in Communication Disorders with the highest grade point average.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Mary C. Baker Meadows and Linda A. Meadows Hodges Nursing Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate nursing student who is a rising sophomore<\/li>\n<li>2.5 GPA or higher<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate financial need<\/li>\n<li>Preference given to West Virginia students<\/li>\n<li>Award available for two years (4 semesters) if in good academic standing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Huntington Pediatric Clinic Council Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Formerly known as E.M. Kline Pediatric Clinic Council Nursing Scholarship<\/li>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate nursing students may apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>John E. Huxley Scholarship for Physical Therapy<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, graduate student majoring in Physical Therapy<\/li>\n<li>3.0 GPA Minimum<\/li>\n<li>Must be resident of West Virginia<\/li>\n<li>Renewable up to 3 years (9 semesters) if in good academic standing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Kristin McComis Parsons Memorial Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, graduate student majoring in Communication Disorders<\/li>\n<li>Donor anticipates contributing $3,000 annually to fund award<\/li>\n<li>Renewable for 2 full years (6 semesters)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Ruth Caraway Morris Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>full-time, graduate student majoring in Physical Therapy<\/li>\n<li>Must be resident of West Virginia<\/li>\n<li>Based on merit\/financial need<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>John F. Morton Nursing Award<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be graduate student who has completed graduate degree in nursing<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate outstanding achievement in clinical practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Giovanna B. Morton Memorial Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be admitted into nursing program<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate clinical excellence and leadership<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 3.5 GPA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>James Angelos Papas Memorial Nursing Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a nursing major<\/li>\n<li>Must be married student with one or more dependent children<\/li>\n<li>Renewable for 4 years (8 semesters) based on good academic standing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Jeri Stoner Memorial<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a nursing major<\/li>\n<li>Must be junior or senior level<\/li>\n<li>Financial need will be a consideration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Jane Snyder Trainor Nursing Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time, undergraduate student who has been accepted into School of Nursing<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate financial need<\/li>\n<li>Preference given to West Virginia residents<\/li>\n<li>Renewable for 4 years (8 semesters) based on good academic standing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sally Garrett Walters Memorial Scholarship<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a graduate student majoring in Communication Disorders<\/li>\n<li>Must be West Virginia resident<\/li>\n<li>Must demonstrate financial need<\/li>\n<li>Must be in good academic standing<\/li>\n<li>Renewable for 3 years (6 semesters)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re an incoming freshman, you may qualify for one of our Non-Resident Merit-Based Scholarships, Resident Merit-Based Scholarships or Metro Merit-Based Scholarships.
