Ryan Elkins, AS, PRSS
\nPronoun: He, Him, His<\/p>\n

Ryan is a person in long-term recovery from substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders, and has been in recovery for almost six years. He holds a degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and currently in his senior year of Marshall University’s undergraduate Social Work Program. When Ryan entered recovery in 2017, he started the Lincoln County Community Outreach Program (LCCOP), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization as a way to give back to the community in which he resides. \u201cI have aspirations in my life today that I never dreamed would be possible,\u201d shares Ryan. \u201cI look forward to continuing my work in the community, helping others find hope in a new way of life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryan works on Marshall University\u2019s campus to support students in recovery or those who may be struggling with a substance use disorder. He offers resources, hosts support groups, and is available to both students and faculty in need. Marshall University is part of the West Virginia Collegiate Recovery Network<\/span><\/a>, an innovative partnership, offering peer recovery support services on ten higher education campuses. Ryan\u2019s position is made possible through federal State Opioid Response funding, which originates from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.<\/p>\n
