In this role, she oversees the Marshall Speech and Hearing Center and coordinates graduate externship placements.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Professor\u00a0Clemins\u00a0is a co-founder and clinical coordinator of the Marshall University Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic,\u00a0established\u00a0in 2018. The clinic is West Virginia\u2019s only recognized multidisciplinary ALS treatment center and provides comprehensive, team-based care to individuals and families affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. She also serves as the speech-language pathologist for the clinic, specializing in communication, voice, and swallowing management for individuals with this neurodegenerative disease. In addition to ALS, her clinical practice also focuses on the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders, with\u00a0particular expertise\u00a0in vocal cord dysfunction, as well as assessment and implementation of speech-generating devices for adults with complex communication needs.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Professor\u00a0Clemins\u00a0serves on the board of the Huntington Scottish Rite Foundation and has helped secure more than $200,000 in grant funding to support clinical services and equipment at the Marshall University Speech and Hearing Center.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She is also\u00a0a previous\u00a0recipient of the\u00a0Picken\u2019s\u00a0Queen Teaching Award and serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Wellness in the Arts and the West Virginia Speech Language and Hearing Association. Prior to returning to Marshall, Professor Adams spent seven years serving adult and geriatric populations in skilled nursing and inpatient rehabilitation settings.
