Travel Notice

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and in keeping with Governor Justice’s suspension of non-essential, out-of-state business travel for state employees until further notice, Marshall University continues to limit non-essential state-funded travel.

Included in the Governor’s travel limitation is attendance at out-of-state and international conferences and continuing education seminars. Out-of-state travel considered essential includes travel for the recruitment of students and student-athletes, student team travel, practicum travel, and candidate travel for approved searches.

All other requested travel will be reviewed by the university president on a case-by-case basis. All travel requests must be vetted through existing approval protocols AND must receive approval from Interim Provost Avi Mukherjee for academic units or from Chief Financial Officer Mark Robinson for non-academic units.

At this time, all international university sponsored travel continues to be suspended.

Any travel requested by an unvaccinated traveler must be approved by the university’s director of health and safety.
