<\/a>Becoming involved with a student organization is a great opportunity for students to meet others with similar interests. With a wide variety of organizations available on Marshall’s campus, there is something for everyone. Students can explore student organizations and browse upcoming events on HerdLife<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many organizations plan activities, service projects, and\/or trips that will help participants grow through encounters and build connections with others. Many students will graduate with the same piece of paper; participating in student organizations helps students develop experiences that will set them apart.<\/p>\n

\n \nThe Biology Club is a scientific community of students and faculty interested in all branches of the life sciences. As a group, our goal is to further our knowledge in the sciences, network with other like-minded individuals, and community service outreach in the local area.\u00a0 We partake in a wide variety of activities, such as behind the scenes zoos and museum tours, exploring research opportunities with diverse faculty, and other hands-on biological adventures.\u00a0 As a club, we also host seasonal outreach events as well as outreach in local schools.

\n \nThe Marshall University Digital Forensics and Information Assurance is also the home of the Marshall University Collegiate Cyber Defense Team (Marshall CCDC). The team competes against other colleges and universities in network defense completions in the Mid-Atlantic section of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. The purpose of Marshall CCDC is to increase your overall awareness and expertise in the realm of cybersecurity and digital forensics. As a team, we work together to increase both our skills, and knowledge through education and experience.<\/p>\n

\n \nDelta Delta Epsilon is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing and encouraging excellence in scholarship in the forensic sciences. The mission is to function as an honor and professional society for students of the forensic sciences.

\n Environmental Science Association\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n
\n \nOur members engage in outreach pertaining to the spread of environmental awareness. Through these endeavors we build lasting relationships with like-minded individuals and further our own understandings of our fields of interest. We are involved in community projects as well as events on campus. In addition, we also have various recreational\/academic research opportunities taking place. We place emphasis on acclimating our members to the scientific instruments they may find themselves using in their prospective fields. We have a collaboration effort with OVEC, Trout Unlimited, and West Virginia Rivers to setup study\/monitoring sites which are designed to hold natural gas companies accountable on proposed infrastructure routes, as well as a space in the Marshall greenhouse where we grow various flora.<\/p>\n

\n \nP.R.O.S. (Parks and Recreation Organization of Students) is a group that meets every\u00a0Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Morrow library commons area. As a parks and recreation club, members of the group participate in activities such as: canoeing, camping, bowling, laser tag, disc golf, backpacking, hiking, and even getting your hands dirty by working in the greenhouse….the possibilities of what this club can do are practically endless. Anyone is free to come; no ties to the Natural Resources and Rec. Management major are required. Meetings typically last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. This is a fun organization to be a part of and the people you meet become life-long friends.<\/p>\n

It aims to do this by 1) electing members on an honorary basis according to their proficiency in mathematics, 2) engaging in activities designed to promote the mathematical and scholarly development of its members, and 3) taking any other measures which will further the purpose stated above.<\/p>\n

Women In Cyber\u2019s mission is to help bridge the gender gap in technology on and off-campus by providing tech education, networking, leadership development and community outreach opportunities for females of all ages. As of January 2020, WInC is now an official student chapter of the national Women In Cybersecurity (WiCyS) organization (https:\/\/www.wicys.org\/student-chapters).<\/p>\n
