As part of the Agricultural Entomology course, they recently spent the day sampling pollinators among vibrant roadside flower patches maintained by the Ohio Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"460\" data-end=\"686\">Armed with bug spray and pants tucked securely into their socks, the class got an up-close look at pollinator diversity while practicing safe field techniques\u2014an important precaution as tick-borne pathogens continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"781\">It\u2019s hands-on science at its best: flowers, fresh air, and a whole lot of buzzing activity!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment are taking their learning to the field\u2014literally!
