The Marshall University College of Science will welcome some of the state’s most talented young scientists when it hosts the 13th annual West Virginia Science Olympiad State Tournament on Saturday, March 6, 2027.<\/p>\n

The competition brings together exceptional middle and high school students from across West Virginia to test their knowledge and skills in a wide range of science, technology, engineering and mathematics events. Teams compete in challenges that reward scientific understanding, critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving.<\/p>\n

Teachers and coaches interested in bringing a team to the tournament can register beginning in October 2026. The state tournament offers students an opportunity to showcase their talents, connect with peers who share their passion for science and experience Marshall University’s science facilities and campus environment.<\/p>\n
