When it comes time for reading discussion, are you noticing more and more uncomfortable silence in the room? This workshop will describe some easy strategies to incorporate reading instruction into your courses to help students improve their active and critical reading skills. This will include strategies like previewing, annotating, keeping reading journals and difficulty inventories, reading texts like a writer, and creating reading maps. We will also briefly discuss the ethical use of AI tools to improve students\u2019 reading processes (the goal being that students use AI tools as reading\u00a0<i>partners<\/i>, not as tools to do the reading\u00a0<i>for<\/i>\u00a0them).<\/p>\n<h2>Ethical Use of AI Tools for Reading Assistance Workshop<\/h2>\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Tuesday, February 4, 2025 | 3:00-4:00<br \/>\n<strong>Where<\/strong>: Drinko Library Room 402<br \/>\n<strong>Registration<\/strong>: Closed<\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">We\u2019ve all been hearing about and discussing AI when it comes to the writing process, but what happens when we start to think about how AI impacts our and our students\u2019 reading processes?
