{"id":6327,"date":"2021-06-03T11:26:56","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T15:26:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/ctl\/?page_id=6327"},"modified":"2026-07-10T13:31:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T17:31:09","slug":"new-faculty-programs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/ctl\/new-faculty-programs","title":{"rendered":"New Faculty Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a part\u00a0of our\u00a0New Faculty Orientation program, The Center for Teaching and Learning hosts\u00a0a series of events\u00a0for new faculty throughout the year.\u00a0These events are intended to follow up the Orientation program by providing you with information <em>as it is needed<\/em> during the fall and spring semesters.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/ctl\/teaching\/new-faculty-orientation\/new-faculty-seminar\">New Faculty Seminar<\/a> is held three times a semester and expands on topics touched on during orientation. Sessions are usually scheduled for Friday afternoon and held virtually via Teams.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/ctl\/teaching\/faculty-development\/pedagogy-of-teaching-and-learning\/bop\">Basics of Pedagogy: Instruction and Assessment<\/a> is an asynchronous, online training designed specifically for\u00a0new and early-career faculty, as well as graduate students interested in teaching.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/ctl\/critical-thinking-faculty-development-workshop\">Critical Thinking (CT) Certification<\/a> is required to meet university requirements while teaching a CT-designated course.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/wac\/\">Writing Across the Curriculum<\/a> is required to meet university requirements before teaching a Writing Intensive (WI)-designated course.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/cbl\/\">Community-Based Learning<\/a> Certification is required to institute a CBL curriculum for your course of instruction.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Questions?
