As the Division Chair I would like to welcome you to the Weisberg Division of Engineering at Marshall University, Huntington, WV. Our utmost priority is the excellence of our engineering programs which we attain through small engineering classes taught by highly qualified faculty, hands-on and experiential learning, and high faculty-student interaction. Our main objective is to provide excellent education, conduct applied research, develop strong partnerships with industry and government, and provide related services to the community at large. The objective is guided by a commitment to continuous improvement in the overall quality of teaching, research and scholarship, and service, while adhering to the greatest standard of ethics.
Our Division is home to 16 full-time faculty members, about 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students. We offer excellent educational opportunities to students seeking an exciting and challenging environment to pursue careers in the broad disciplines of Engineering leading to B.S. and M.S. degrees in General Engineering – Civil Engineering Emphasis, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering. Our engineering curricula leading to these programs are unique in involving our students with our faculty through the entire period of study. Our Engineering Programs prepare our graduates for 21st century grand challenges. We believe successful engineers must have a broad base of technical and entrepreneurial skills to guarantee they can meet the grand challenges of tomorrow. Our curricula emphasize practice of professional ethics, an understanding of the significance and role of engineering in contemporary life, and the influence of engineering and technology on society in the broadest sense.
