Specialty: Complex dynamical systems (mechanical, vehicular, mechatronic/micro-/nano-systems, structural): design, modeling, identification, monitoring and diagnosis.

Short Bio:

He is author and co-author of eight books (two published by SAE, two by Elsevier and one by Wiley), and over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers. He is fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers International, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. His industry experience includes Gates in Michigan, IBM in California, SONY and DSI in Singapore. He once taught at University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Huazhong Univ Sci & Tech in China. He has won a dozen of awards from industry/academia. He is mentor/co-mentor of more than 20 MS graduates/PhD graduates/visiting scholar. He served as section editor (condition-based monitoring) of series Encyclopedia of Tribology published by Springer, and member editorial board of six journals. He earned his BSME and MS in Shanghai Jiaotong Univ and PhD in Singapore Nanyang Tech Univ.
