Mark Deal grew up in Huntington, West Virginia, and chose to attend Marshall because it was accredited, affordable and close to home. Obtaining a Bachelor of Science in management with minors in marketing and entrepreneurship, he continued his education to pursue a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Master of Business Administration.
Joining the Marshall University Foundation as a director of philanthropy in 2016, Mark was excited by the opportunity to work for his alma mater.
“I wanted to give back. Marshall is home and I was comfortable here,” he said.
Networking with alumni and donors from Virginia, Western Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana, Mark says the relationships he builds is the best part of his job.
“My hope for Marshall University is that it continues to grow as a leader in academic success, not only for West Virginia, but for the world,” he said.
Mark currently resides in Ceredo, West Virginia, and enjoys traveling, working out, spending time with his family and friends, and attending and watching football games.
