Study history in a challenging, dynamic environment with the Marshall University History Department. Work with excellent, award-winning faculty who research, teach and publish in a diversity of areas. Attend small seminars that give ample time for student participation and one-on-one faculty attention and become part of a cohort of graduate students who work together and support one another.<\/p>\n

Our Master\u2019s program focuses on preparing students for future work, and our students present their original research to campus and off-campus audiences, sometimes publish their research, and have opportunities to serve as teaching assistants. We have had excellent success getting students into Ph.D. programs, library science programs, and law schools, and our alumni are employed in fields from law to public history to city planning and serve on the faculty of History Departments across the United States.<\/p>\n
