Mandatory Check-in for First Year Students

Yes, attending a First Year Check-In with the Honors College is MANDATORY because it is your opportunity to sit down with a college representative to discuss the curriculum and identify the best and most efficient way for you to complete it given your specific situation (e.g. AP credit, dual enrollment hours, etc.). It is also your chance to learn the expectations for you to stay in Good Standing and continue making Satisfactory Progress toward graduation from the Honors College and to ask any Honors College-related questions you may have.

Be sure to watch your Marshall email account for all the information about how to schedule your First Year Check-In. The email will provide additional details, but be aware that in order to accommodate everyone, we schedule these in groups based on students’ last names. So don’t panic if you are not notified about scheduling an appointment at the same time as some of your friends in the Honors College.

Here’s a brief outline of the schedule.

If your last name begins with: Look for your email around: Your appt. will take place between:

NOTE: Your assigned dates will not be available in the scheduler until the day you receive your email invitation.
