England at the University of Oxford<\/h3>\n

\"\"For those students who have been admitted to the Honors College as members of the Society of Yeager Scholars<\/strong> (through a separate, highly-competitive application process), their scholarship includes one of two different summer programs (literature and political science) at the University of Oxford<\/strong>. The Society of Yeager Scholars<\/a> is a full-ride undergraduate scholarship program housed in the Honors College that, in addition to a summer study at Oxford University, covers all tuition and fees, room and board, an additional travel experience, a laptop, books and a stipend for supplies at Marshall.<\/p>\n

Cultural Landscapes of Ireland: Explore Ancient Heritage in a Modern World<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are excited to announce a groundbreaking agreement between Marshall University and the Dundalk Institute of Technology<\/strong> (DkIT) in Ireland! This partnership, formalized going in the 2025 academic year, is sponsored by Honors College at Marshall University and the School of Business & Humanities at DkIT and offers our students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural and historical landscapes of Ireland. With opportunities for integrative learning, hands-on experiences, and cultural exchanges, this program promises to be a transformative experience that enhances your global perspective and academic journey. This program is open to ALL students at Marshall and not restricted to students in the Honors College. Honors students in good standing can apply for funds through the Honors Council Grant <\/a>to assist their attendance<\/div><\/div>\n

Our exchange programs will begin with a Certificate in Cultural Landscapes<\/strong>, which each student will be able to earn while studying through DkIT. Learn more about the significance of cultural landscape management in wide ranging jobs from the U.S. National Park Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Other Study Abroad Experiences<\/h2>\n

In recognition of the value of study abroad experience, beyond those programs sponsored directly by the the Honors College, a student can elect to have up to 6 of the required General Honors credit hours waived for study abroad experiences for which the student receives academic credit at Marshal<\/strong>l. To receive a waiver of 3 honors credits, students must earn a minimum of 3 transfer credits and the study abroad experience must have a duration of at least 3 weeks. A total of 6 credits of waived honors credit can be awarded for a semester abroad with full time enrollment of 12 credits or more.<\/p>\n

Students must request<\/strong> the waiver by submitting the Study Abroad Honors Credit Waiver Petition form available on the Student Forms<\/a> page. Students attending an Honors College sponsored program do not<\/strong> need to submit this application.<\/div><\/div>\n

Students must submit the form to describe enhanced academic experiences that they expect to have before<\/strong> they leave and another after<\/strong> they return to provide justification for why these credits deserve an honors credit waiver after they return. The Office of Study Abroad<\/a> (OSA) at Marshall University can provide students with information on university-sponsored international experiences for which they can receive academic credit at Marshall University.
