This living-learning environment is designed to support academic success, personal growth, and meaningful connections with fellow honors students.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"827\">After the first year, honors students are eligible to live in <strong data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"631\">Willis Hall<\/strong>, the Honors Hall, located in Marshall Commons. This upper-level honors housing option features suite-style living, enhanced privacy, and continued opportunities for engagement within the Honors College community.<\/p>\n<h4 data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"865\">How to Request Honors Housing<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To select Honors Housing, you must first be admitted to the Honors College by one of our two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/prospective-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admissions pathways<\/a> <strong>and<\/strong> have the \u201cHonors\u201d attribute on your student record (which we do here in the Honors College within a week of your admission to the college) <strong data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1154\">before<\/strong> completing your Housing Agreement.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"869\" data-end=\"1009\">When you complete your Housing Agreement, you\u2019ll be asked to choose <strong data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"965\">3\u20135 building preferences<\/strong> (including Themed Communities like Honors).<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1189\">If you\u2019ve already submitted your Housing Agreement <strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1253\">before<\/strong> joining the Honors College, you can still request Honors Housing: just email <strong data-start=\"1331\" data-end=\"1361\">Housing and Residence Life<\/strong> at <a class=\"decorated-link cursor-pointer\" href=\"mailto:housing@marshall.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1416\">housing@marshall.edu <\/a>to update your preferences. Written consent (as in an email) is required for updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1646\"><strong data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1501\">Pro tip:<\/strong> The sooner you join the Honors College and complete your Housing Agreement, the better your chance of being placed in Honors Housing. We encourage people to complete it early because their assigned housing selection day will <strong>depend<\/strong> on when they completed their agreement. Your <strong>selection day<\/strong> will be in late May or early June.
