Honors College Scholarship offers must be accepted by <strong>May 15, 2026<\/strong>.\u00a0If you do not meet the criteria for Admission by Invitation, consider applying through our <strong>Admission by Holistic Review<\/strong> pathway listed on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/prospective-students\/\">Admissions page<\/a>. Note that all admitted Honors students must accept the scholarship through the process described below. Top Scholar applicants must also be admitted to the Honors College to be considered.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2>Accepting Your Invitation<\/h2>\n<h3>Step One: Eligibility and MU Account Activation<\/h3>\n<p>Eligible \u00a0<strong>in-person, <\/strong><span class=\"BxUVEf ILfuVd\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hgKElc\"><strong>bachelor\u2019s<\/strong> degree<\/span><\/span> seeking students admitted to Marshall University will qualify to join the Honors College &#8220;by invitation,&#8221; without submitting a separate application, based on these criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GPA<\/strong>: At least <strong>3.5<\/strong> high school GPA.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Test Scores<\/strong>: ACT composite of <strong>26<\/strong> or SAT composite of <strong>1230 <\/strong>or greater<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To proceed, ensure your Marshall student account is activated. Use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/newstudentchecklist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enrollment Checklist<\/a> to complete this step. Your Marshall credentials (used for myMU) will be required to accept the invitation. If you encounter issues, try the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/selfservice\/loginselfservices\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Login Self Service<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"flex py-3 \"><div class=\"mt-1\"><span class=\"inline bg-red-700 text-white px-2 py-1 font-semibold rounded-sm uppercase text-sm mr-2 my-1\">Note<\/span><\/div><div class=\"ml-3\">Students with the GPA and but lacking these test scores may consider our <strong>Holistic Review<\/strong> pathway. Learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/prospective-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holistic Review<\/a>.<\/div><\/div>\n<h3>Step Two: Accepting our Invitation to Join the Honors College<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>View the Honors Admissions Pathways<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/netapps.marshall.edu\/honors-invite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Honors College Invitation Home<\/a> (directly linked to here and also through a link in your myMU) admissions pathways, including Admission by Invitation.<\/li>\n<li>Only students meeting the GPA and test score criteria will be able to proceed by clicking on the button titled &#8220;<strong>View Honors College Invitation<\/strong>.&#8221; Make sure that these are reported to Marshall and are recorded on your admitted student record. Scores may be reported to Marshall but are not (yet) recorded on your record. The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/admissions\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Office of Admissions<\/a> handles all student information and are the only ones able to update your record. These attributes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify you as an Honors student in the university, if you matriculate at Marshall.<\/li>\n<li>Enable access to benefits for incoming students, such as the Honors College Scholarship and all other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scholarships <\/a>and eligibility for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/honors-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Honors Housing<\/a> which is handled directly by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Office of Housing and Residence Life<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"flex py-3 \"><div class=\"mt-1\"><span class=\"inline bg-red-700 text-white px-2 py-1 font-semibold rounded-sm uppercase text-sm mr-2 my-1\">Note<\/span><\/div><div class=\"ml-3\">Students can verify that their Honors attributes have been added to their account by visiting <a href=\"https:\/\/mubert.marshall.edu\/brite_student\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BRITE Student Portal<\/a> and looking for &#8220;HON &#8211; University Honors&#8221; under <strong>Student Attributes<\/strong>.<\/div><\/div>\n<h3>Step Four: Accept Your Honors College Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>Once your Honors attributes are added, the Office of Student Financial Assistance (SFA) will be notified to apply the Honors College Scholarship to your account. This is a &#8220;waiver&#8221; of a defined amount of tuition that you would otherwise need to pay&#8211;generally $400\/annually beginning your first year and thereafter as long as you remain in good standing in the college. You must log into myMU (using the same credentials that you used to accept our offer of admission) to accept the scholarship along with any other merit- or need-based awards. <strong>Learn more about &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/sfa\/how-do-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How do I accept or decline my aid<\/a>&#8221; from the SFA. <\/strong>Questions about your offers: Contact <strong>SFA@marshall.edu<\/strong> from your Marshall email account with your MUID number.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Step Five: Get Ready to Join the Herd!<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Explore Additional Scholarships<\/strong>: Review other scholarship opportunities through the Honors College on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/honors\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scholarships<\/a> page. The comprehensive application for all additional scholarships in the college is now the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/topscholar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Top Scholar<\/a> program application.
