Cancelling Housing

Cancelling Housing After Move In

If you want to move out of Marshall’s residence halls, be sure you follow these steps to avoid unnecessary charges to your account:

  1. If you are not 21 years of age or older, out of high school for two or more years, or have earned 60 or more credit hours, you must complete one of the Release Request forms and be approved for your release.
  2. If you are eligible to live off campus, based on the criteria above, complete a Cancellation of Housing form. Turn this in to the Department of Housing and Residence Life office in Holderby Hall.
  3. Remove all your belongings from your room.
  4. See your RA or RA on duty in the building. The RA will check you out of your room. This means you will:
    • Complete your Room Condition Report (RCR). Be sure you check it carefully before signing.
    • Turn in your room and mailbox keys.
    • Leave your forwarding address.
