We understand that during your employment at Marshall, you may have questions regarding your benefits. To help assist you, we compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions to provide the answers you may need quickly.<\/p>\n

PEIA<\/h2>\n

You can search the PEIA<\/a> site to find information about health insurance to wellness tools.<\/p>\n \n \n \n \n

\n Adoption\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n
\n \n

When an\u00a0adopted\u00a0child is\u00a0placed in the home of a member, the member has the month the child was born and\/\u00a0or\u00a0placed\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0home\u00a0and\u00a0the two following calendar months to add coverage for the child.<\/p>\n

Coverage will be retroactive to the date of birth or placement if enrolled during the initial qualifying event period. If the child is not added to the insurance during the initial enrollment period, the child cannot be added until open enrollment or until another qualifying event occurs (insurance will not be retroactive).<\/p>\n

To add an\u00a0adopted\u00a0child to your health insurance, you can:<\/strong>
\n1.Log into your Manage My Benefits<\/a> account. Online Adoption Instructions<\/a>
\n2. Visit your Benefits Coordinator and fill out a\u00a0Change in Status Form<\/a>.\u00a0 You will need a copy of the\u00a0certificate\u00a0of\u00a0placement\u00a0or\u00a0legal\u00a0adoption\u00a0papers\u00a0as documentation.

\n Birth of a Child\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n

The birth of a child to a policyholder creates an eligibility event that allows the policyholder to enroll their new dependent. Policyholders have the month the child was born and the two following calendar months to add coverage for the child. If the child is not added to the insurance during the initial enrollment period, the child cannot be added until open enrollment or until another qualifying event occurs.<\/p>\n

To add a child to your health insurance, you can:<\/strong>
\n1. Log into your Manage My Benefits<\/a> account. Online Birth Addition Instructions<\/a>
\n2. Visit your Benefits Coordinator and fill out a Change in Status Form.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 You will need a copy of the birth certificate as documentation.

\n Change of Demographic Information\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n

\u200bIf a policyholder wants to update their demographic information, they can accomplish it in one of two ways.<\/p>\n

1. Log into your Manage My Benefits<\/a> account. On the account information screen, the name, address, telephone number or dependent information can be updated.
\n2. Visit your Benefits Coordinator and fill out a Change in Status Form.<\/span><\/a> fill out the top portion of the form, and take it to\u00a0the Benefit Coordinator to fill out the agency portion. The Benefit Coordinator can then enter the information through the Manage My Benefits portal and upload the form.<\/p>\n

\n Divorce\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n
\n \n

Divorce is a qualifying event to make changes to your insurance.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Qualifying events which end eligibility (such as divorce) must be reported immediately. For purposes of eligibility, the term \u201cimmediately\u201d shall mean as soon as practically possible and, in no case, greater than thirty (30) days from the date of the\u00a0final divorce decree.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You must remove your ex-spouse and stepchildren\u00a0from\u00a0all\u00a0of\u00a0the policies that they were covered by ie. Health and Dependent Life, Dental, Vision etc..<\/p>\n

To add make the change, you can:<\/strong>
\n1. Log into your Manage My Benefits<\/a> account. Online Divorce Instructions<\/a><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Visit your Benefits Coordinator and fill out a\u00a0Change in Status Form.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0 You will need a copy of the the\u00a0divorce decree.\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n \n

\n Employees who are being removed from Parent\u2019s Insurance\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n

Dependent child reaches his\/her 26th birthday:<\/strong> You have the month of the event and the two following calendar months to act upon that qualifying event and change your coverage. In order to pick up our coverage, we will require a letter from the insurance carrier indicating the change in insurance coverage, the effective date of that change and the dependents covered. Changes can be made through Manage My Benefits<\/a> or completing Change in Status form<\/a> and bringing the documentation to the Benefits Coordinator. Coverage will begin on the first day of the month after enrollment occurs.\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n \n

\n Marriage\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/span>\n <\/button>\n\n \n
\n \nMarriage is a qualifying event that allows a member to add or drop coverage. A member may add coverage for a spouse during the month they are married and the 2 calendar months following. It is also a qualifying event to drop health coverage if a member is going to pick up coverage through their new. Step children may also be added due to the qualifying event of marriage.<\/p>\n
