Gartner<\/a> defines data literacy as “the ability to read, write and communicate data in context, including an understanding of data sources and constructs, analytical methods and techniques applied, and the ability to describe the use case, application and resulting value.” The lack of data literacy is an internal hindrance to the effectiveness of the CDO’s office. Data literacy is crucial for data-informed decisions, especially in higher education.\u00a0 For that reason, I have created this blog to share Marshall University’s journey through data governance and data literacy.<\/p>\n
