About the MUID Office<\/h2>\n

We are located\u00a0on the first floor of the Drinko Library.<\/p>\n

The ID Office provides official mobile credentials, and photo identification cards and badges when necessary,\u00a0 for Marshall University students, faculty, and staff. Effective June 1, 2020 the MUID office will only be issuing Marshall Mobile IDs. <\/strong>The ID Office is required to verify the identity of any individual requesting a card with a valid, Government issued photo ID such as a driver\u2019s license or passport.\u00a0 All identification credentials issued will bear the individual’s official name on record with the University.\u00a0 Preferred names must be registered with the University through the Office of the Registrar in order to be used on mobile IDs or badges.<\/p>\n

Procedures\/Policies<\/h2>\n

When requested to do so by authorized university personnel, students must present their Marshall University Campus identification credentials. Authorized university personnel include, but are not limited to, any staff member of the residence halls or food service, MUPD and security. Campus I.D.’s may be used only by the student whose name appears on the card.<\/p>\n

Effective June 1, 2020 we will only be issuing Marshall Mobile Student IDs. Please contact the Campus ID office with any questions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \n \n \n \n

If your photo on file is over two years old you will be required to update it.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n \n

To be eligible for student identification credentials active enrollment is required for the current or upcoming academic term.<\/p>\n

Dual credit students working through local high schools may request a special “dual credit\/high school student” ID when their course registration is active in the University computer system.<\/p>\n

Badges for student teaching, nursing, or other clinicals require approval in advance from the responsible department. Please check with the instructor or the Campus ID Office to ensure the proper authorization is on file. A charge of $5 to $10 may apply for certain badges.\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n \n

Full-time faculty or staff must present ID authorization documents from Human Resource Services to receive their MU Mobile ID.<\/p>\n

Part-time, extra-help employees must present a letter from the employing department on university letterhead identifying them and must have a university identification number (MUID number \/ 90#) assigned in advance.<\/p>\n

If you need to have your photo taken for your ID card, photos can be taken at the following locations:<\/p>\n

Huntington Campus – at the MU ID Office
\nMid-Ohio Valley Center (MOVC)<\/p>\n

In all cases, you must present proper ID at the office to pick up a necessary card or badge.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n \n
