If you are experiencing difficulties with the university\u2019s WiFi network or are encountering general computer performance issues, we recommend taking the following steps to assess and address the problem:<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Step 1: Update Your Device\u2019s BIOS and System Drivers\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Manufacturers of computers and other devices regularly release updates that improve security, connectivity, system stability and overall device performance. It is faster, more secure, and finely tuned for the best performance on the university network.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>**Important**<\/b>: Please use your full email address (<a title=\"mailto:user@marshall.edu\" href=\"mailto:user@marshall.edu\" data-linkindex=\"8\">user@marshall.edu<\/a>) in the username field when connecting to MU WiFi or eduroam.\u00a0 This will ensure proper identification and access roles across the traditional and new software defined networks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Step 3: Housing and Residence Life Spaces\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">For issues connecting to the network in any of the residence life spaces, please confirm that the devices are connecting to the\u00a0<b>MU HRL network<\/b>.\u00a0 Instructions to connect to that network can be found at\u00a0<a title=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/it\/hrlwifi\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/it\/hrlwifi\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"9\">www.marshall.edu\/it\/hrlwifi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Step 4: Contact IT Support (if needed)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">We appreciate your cooperation in keeping your devices optimized for the best network experience.
