Dr. Peggy Proudfoot Harman and husband/documentarian Jason Harman took home the first-place prize in the Best West Virginia Short Documentary category for their documentary, “George Rashid: The Leper of Pickens” at the WV FILMmakers Festival.
Shumaker named department administrator for Marshall Surgery

Marshall Health has announced that Charles A. Shumaker has been named department administrator for Marshall Surgery. Shumaker joined the Marshall Health team in 2015 as the department administrator for Marshall Dermatology. Prior to coming to Marshall Health, he served as the manager of media and community relations for Cabell Huntington Hospital for seven years.

Journalism alumnus wins Pulitzer Prize

A Marshall University alumnus has received the 2016 Pulitzer Prize in Editorial Writing. Huntington native John Hackworth, editor of the Sun Newspapers in Charlotte Harbor, Florida, received the award for a series of editorials calling for an investigation into the death of an inmate at Charlotte Correctional Institute.
