Anderson\" width=\"300\" height=\"415\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"columns w-full lg:w-8\/12  lg:px-6    mt-6\"><div class=\"\">\n<p>Twice a Pulitzer Prize finalist, Leonard Troy (L. T.) Anderson was best known for his insightful, witty and \u201cto the point\u201d columns. Anderson launched his 50-year career as a reporter for the <em>Hinton Daily News<\/em>. He joined the\u00a0<em>Charleston Gazette<\/em>\u00a0in 1950 as a copy editor, and, then, he became a writer for the\u00a0<em>Charleston Gazette<\/em>\u00a0and for the\u00a0<em>Charleston Daily Mail<\/em>. He rose to city editor and associate editor for the\u00a0<em>Charleston Gazette.<\/em>He was a World War II veteran, and in 1984 he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from West Virginia State College for his influence on the state\u2019s political scene.
