Each summer, the June Harless Center partners with the Huntington Children\u2019s Museum to host the Cardboard Boat Regatta<\/strong> at Marshall University\u2019s Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium, part of the museum\u2019s annual KidsFest celebration. This splashy challenge invites students in grades 3\u201312 to design and build boats made entirely of cardboard and duct tape, then test their creations in a race across the pool.<\/p>\n

With guidance from the Putnam Area Robotics Team and Harless Center staff, participants explore the Engineering Design Process while putting their creativity, perseverance, and teamwork to the test.<\/p>\n

The Regatta has quickly become a favorite summer tradition \u2014 blending fun, collaboration, and hands-on STEM learning. Plans are already underway for the next race \u2014 stay tuned for details on how to join the competition!<\/p>\n
