The Truist Center for Leadership at Marshall University\u2019s College of Business hosted the annual Emerging Leaders Certification program on October 19th and 20th in room 330, Corbly Hall. The program was offered both in-person and virtually, with a total of 29 students in attendance – the highest number of students in attendance in the last three years. This was the first time that it was led by Marketing Professor and Director of the Truist Center for Leadership Dr. Monisha Gupta, who undertook the Truist Center for Leadership training in 2020.<\/p>\n

The renowned Truist Leadership Institute offers the Emerging Leaders Certification program, which comes at no cost to students, to focus on analyzing personal characteristics that can promote effective leadership. Prior to the training, participants complete surveys that provide insights into their personalities and leadership styles, which are then discussed and connected to improving their leadership skills. The overall goal of the program is to encourage all participants to find their individual strengths and learn how to use those qualities to become an effective leader. Upon completion of the two-day course, students receive a certificate from the Truist Leadership Institute.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Emerging Leaders Certification program opened with three guest speakers: Marshall University College of Business Interim Dean Jeffrey Archambault, Marketing Department Chair Elizabeth Alexander, and Truist Bank Representative Susan Evanson. All three guest speakers spoke about the importance of strong leadership in the workplace and in everyday life. Truist Bank has generously donated funds for the Truist Center for Leadership at Marshall University in honor of the company\u2019s long-standing commitment to empowering leaders. In an effort to better-equip students with powerful leadership skills, the Truist Leadership Center at Marshall University continues to provide training seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
