This program, which serves as a cornerstone for leadership development was organized in collaboration with the esteemed Truist Leadership Institute, Greensboro, NC https:\/\/www.truistleadershipinstitute.com\/.The ELC program is a two-day immersion experience into the realms of leadership and personal development, designed to equip our students with invaluable insights and skills for their future endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>We were honored to have Provost and Senior Vice President Avinandan Mukherjee with us in person to inaugurate the program. Dr. Mukherjee&#8217;s profound insights and vast experience in understanding individual leadership styles and their applications as guiding tools for future careers left an indelible mark on our participants. His wisdom set the stage for a truly engaging and enlightening program.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mukherjee was accompanied by Chief of Staff Glen Midkiff, who emphasized that leadership extends far beyond our workplaces, impacting our communities, families, and personal growth. Glen&#8217;s words resonated deeply with our students, reinforcing the idea that leadership is indeed a lifelong journey.<\/p>\n<p>To cater to diverse learning preferences, the ELC program was offered in both in-person and virtual formats. Dr. Monisha Gupta, the Director of the Truist Center for Leadership, played a pivotal role as the program trainer. Dr. Gupta, who underwent training in 2020 and is the representative of the program at Marshall, skillfully guided our students through the program.<\/p>\n<p>The Truist Leadership Institute&#8217;s philanthropic commitment is commendable, as they offer the ELC program at no cost to our students. This program revolves around analyzing personality characteristics and applying that information to develop effective leadership and communication strategies. Prior to the training, participants undergo selected surveys such as strength finders, VIA, Leadership Communications Strategy finders, and more. The findings from these assessments are meticulously discussed and analyzed to help gauge strong and dormant leadership styles. The overarching goal of the program is to empower all participants to recognize their individual strengths and learn how to harness these qualities to become more effective leaders. Upon successful completion of the two-day course, students receive a certificate from the Truist Leadership Institute.<\/p>\n<p>In line with our commitment to better equip students with powerful leadership skills, the Truist Leadership Center at Marshall University continues to provide training, workshops, and networking opportunities.
