The information is provided to let people know what has been banned\/challenged elsewhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2026<\/h2>\n<p>20 challenges, including 20 multi-title challenges<\/p>\n<p>On March 11, the Rockingham County School Board (VA) voted to remove six books from school libraries, including <strong>The DUFF<\/strong>. School Superintendent Larry Shifflett cited a school policy barring \u201csexually explicit content\u201d as justification. A reporter covering the meeting noted the banned books were about Black and LGBTQIA+ youth, persons with disabilities, and teenage pregnancy. These books were among 57 titles the board suspended from use in early 2024 because they were flagged on a partisan book rating website.
