The information is provided to let people know what has been banned\/challenged elsewhere.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2016<\/h2>\n<p>Banned by the Venice (Italy) mayor along with 48 other children&#8217;s books from the city&#8217;s preschool libraries. Most of the books &#8211; destined for the city&#8217;s 28 nursery schools and kindergartens &#8211; never actually got to the libraries and are still packed up in boxes in various municipal offices. After an outcry &#8211; from residents, authors, publishers, librarian associations, and even Amnesty International &#8211; he whittled his list of banned books to just two.
