Review your site at least once a semester and update or remove outdated information.<\/li>\n<li>Use the official theme components. Buttons, cards, accordions, and other components are pre-built and accessible.<\/li>\n<li>Write for the web. Use short paragraphs, clear headings, and plain language.<\/li>\n<li>Use accessible images. Every image should have descriptive alt text. Decorative images should have an empty alt attribute (<code>alt=\"\"<\/code>).<\/li>\n<li>Link descriptively. Pages that aren&#8217;t ready should be saved as drafts or password-protected, not published with placeholder text, construction graphics, or notes saying content is coming soon.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t use generic or decorative images as content. Use authentic photography when possible.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t override the theme with inline styles. Custom CSS or inline style attributes can break accessibility, responsive layout, and future theme updates.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t use heading tags for visual styling. Use H2, H3, etc. to reflect content hierarchy, not to make text bigger or bolder.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t create duplicate pages for the same content. Link to existing pages on marshall.edu rather than copying content.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t leave access open after someone leaves. Notify the Web Team when a user no longer needs access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\n<\/div>\n\n<h2>Terms of Use<\/h2>\n<p>Departmental websites can be requested by any official Marshall University department or office. Sites are provided with access to the university theme and official branding. Please keep your site&#8217;s content current and in compliance with university graphic standards.<\/p>\n<h3>User Access and Responsibility<\/h3>\n<p>Granting access to your site \u2014 especially to student accounts \u2014 gives that user the ability to make changes to all areas of the site. Your department is responsible for any changes made by users you have authorized.
