I decided to apply as a presenter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That effort paid off. Jutt won her category with a presentation focused on grip friction and its potential link to elbow injuries, particularly ulnar collateral ligament damage &#8211; a relevant issue at the forefront of baseball\u2019s health and performance concerns. Research like Jutt\u2019s could redefine how pitchers train and recover, potentially leading to safer pitching techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Her presentation caught the attention of the selection committee and helped strengthen her application for an internship, but it wasn\u2019t a guaranteed internship.<\/p>\n<p>She described the interview process as \u201cvery difficult,\u201d a true test of not only her skills but also her determination.\u00a0\u00a0Jutt passed the test.\u00a0\u00a0She got the call.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1147 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-300x105.jpg\" alt=\"A video board shows the logos of the schools represented by the LA Dodger's 2025 Internship Class\" width=\"300\" height=\"105\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-300x105.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-1024x358.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-768x268.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-1536x537.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.marshall.edu\/moments\/files\/2025\/06\/Internship-Class-2048x716.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>She began her internship with an orientation at the iconic Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, alongside other high-achieving students from across the country, before relocating to Camelback Ranch in Phoenix, Arizona \u2013 the Dodgers\u2019 spring training hub and home to their cutting-edge, 12,000-square-foot performance innovation lab.<\/p>\n<p>Now, as a performance science intern, she\u2019s deep in the data &#8211; collecting, analyzing and interpreting information that could help some of the world\u2019s best athletes perform even better while avoiding injury.<\/p>\n<div class=\"block border-t-2 border-b-2 py-6 mt-6 lg:border-t-0 lg:border-b-0 mb-8 lg:float-right lg:pl-8 lg:py-6 lg:w-1\/3 lg:-mr-24 xl:-mr-32 lg:mt-4 lg:ml-8 lg:mb-4 lg:border-l-4 border-green \">\n\t<span class=\"text-gray-700 font-semibold text-lg leading-5 bg-repeat-x bg-size-[100%_6px] bg-position-[0_90%] bg-linear-to-r from-green\/10 to-green\/10\"> &#8220;Yasmine&#8217;s efforts, combined with the foundation provided by Marshall&#8217;s Graduate Biomechanics program, have prepared her exceptionally well for this role. This placement with the Dodgers underscores the caliber of students and the practical training that our program offers, opening doors to exciting career paths.&#8221;<\/span>\n\n\t\t\t<span class=\"block text-right w-full mt-4 uppercase font-medium\">- Dr. Suzanne Konz<\/span>\n\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Though she might be new to the big leagues, Jutt is no stranger to working with athletes.
